2008 Campaigned for U.S. Congress as an independent candidate to promote emergency plan to respond to energy crisis and to increase participatory government by running grassroots campaign

2006 Campaigned for U.S. Congress to promote rural public transportation and to increase participatory government

2004 Organized press campaign to prevent announced cuts in bus service by CCTA on the Williston line

2001-2008 Attended city council and other public meetings to address issues in public forum and to lobby for solutions that were in the public interest

1995-1998 Served as board member of the Cherry Tree Assoc 501(c)(3) community development group. Worked on community gardening program and other aspects of program development. Ran summer street festivals, children's programs and worked with other Bronx community groups to improve housing and other economic opportunities for the people of the Bronx

1992 Helped organize citywide housing conference bringing together more than a dozen housing and tenant advocacy groups in New York to develop coordinated efforts for a city wide effort to advocate for affordable housing solutions

1990-1998 Worked for Earth Celebrations, a 501(c)(3) group working on community gardening and other urban environmental issues. Worked on annual event "The Rites of Spring Procession to Save our Gardens" a large all day event held in lower Manhattan

1990-1998 Organized six concerts in Tompkins Square Park, obtained permits, booked bands, publicized events, coordinated logistics, ran state and volunteer crew

1988-199 Homesteaded 733 East 9th Street in lower Manhattan. Conducted research participated in building renovation and helped coordinate Eviction Watch Committee

1989-1990 Helped start and run the St Brigids Mens shelter for homeless men

1986-1990 Worked for Sane Freeze N.Y.P.I.R.G and Greenpeace doing door to door outreach and managing staff. Initiated new field program for N.J.Sane
